Paper levies create inefficiency and risk


Mountain America was receiving government agency levies and garnishments primarily in paper, delivered by mail or dropped at various locations. Each had to be scanned, routed, and keyed in by hand, straining the team during high-volume periods.

The obvious solution was electronic intake with automated data capture, but that vision seemed out of reach. Faxes and agency portals weren’t real progress, often requiring even more manual effort than paper. And while Mountain America had heard of the national X9.129 electronic levy standard, they didn’t know how to implement it — and most agencies still can’t deliver in that format.
