1. The Safari story

The Safari SOP Team Our core team met in the early 2000s, as the promise of legal technology was just beginning to be realized. Our goal was to change the way corporate law departments manage legal work—and two decades later we're still at it.
  2. 2002
    Our 1st trip to Africa

Serengeti Tracker - Our first venture Our first venture was an online matter management and e-billing system that we named Serengeti Tracker, reflecting the diverse ecosystem we created for legal collaboration (plus we loved the animals).
  3. 2006
    The accolades pile up

The accolades pile up Serengeti was consistently ranked #1 in customer satisfaction and became the most widely-used legal platform with 40k law firms in 190 countries working with hundreds of law departments.

  4. 2010
    Acquisition by TR

We are acquired by Thomson Reuters After building a diverse client list ranging from Fortune 100s (Amazon, Disney, American Express) to companies with just one in-house attorney, we decided to sell to Thomson Reuters and keep growing.
  5. 2016
    Separate success

We go our separate ways After a few years we headed our separate ways, but still met up to swap ideas over coffee. Some of us built new legal start-ups, meeting more great people and picking up new insights along the way.

    Separate success

  6. 2019
    Back together again

We get back together again On a rainy Seattle afternoon, the core group of founders were thinking about building something new together. "What about that feature request we kept getting back in our Serengeti days?"
  7. 2020
    Building Safari SOP

We build Safari SOP We did our homework, talked to a lot of law departments, and learned that ten years later there was still no system designed for responding to subpoenas. We decided to take it on: Safari was born.

We help companies improve subpoena response Safari is changing the way companies respond to subpoenas and other routine document requests (and you may have noticed... the animals are back).
  9. Jump in the jeep

Join us on the Safari Our secret to success has always been partnering with innovative companies. If you're as driven to improve as we are, then jump in the jeep—we'd love to work together.
